Slits

Wearing: Friend Of Mine dress, Zara coat and heels, Marcs clutch and friends vintage heirloom ring. It feels that all I ever do is stock up on adaptable, shell tops or dresses with original quirks. This bright red smock was transformed thanks to the sleek and sly cut out elbow slits. Definitely not the most practical in winter, but small risks are necessary not only for fun but as I am struggling with stretching the contents of my light luggage this week.  The Manhattan Vintage Fair is on this weekend and I cannot wait for the overdue rummage. If anyone has any more shopping recommendations for New York I would genuinely appreciate it, as my ventures haven’t been as successful as …

Clean Lines

Wearing: Maurie & Eve pants, Zara shirt and heels, Michael Kors watch Making the most of the sunshine and warmth this morning, and the fact that this is most likely the only time I will be able to step out of the apartment without hiding beneath a layers of every coat I brought with me. I don’t do well with the cold and despite creeping in to my bones I have brushed it off focusing rather on the pure excitement of being here. Wearing: Asos jumper, Sass and Bide jeans, Alexander Wang bag (borrowed from friend), Michael Kors watch, Betts boots. Just a quick update before I collapse in to a jet lagged coma for as long as I can get away with. Flying in to JFK last night was the first time it sunk in how excited I am for the next few weeks. It also feels like I never left since last September? Maybe I never shook my New York state of mind, and being here feels more and more like it could be home. I’m staying in the East Village with friends but today we went shopping along Fifth Avenue, and visited the bare trees in Central Park. It is …

Canary

Wearing: Asos dress and hat, Alexander Wang bag (borrowed from a friend), Tony Bianco boots and Michael Kors watch. The most important thing about what you wear each day should be that it makes you happy. But upon wearing this dress recently, I have found that something as simple as bright yellow can make those around you significantly happier too. I had non stop greetings and smiles from strangers, commenting on the ‘ray of sunshine’ I was wearing. I’ve been hastily ticking off last minute errands and found this drop waist dress with raw edges has been my saviour for the last few days of unpredictable Sydney summer. I apologise in advance as every outfit post for the next few weeks …
