Finally writing from home. Well, close enough anyway…
Since showing my parents around Italy on their first ever big overseas trip I’ve been laying low and making the most of the upcoming Australian Summer. I live on the Australian coastline, and am luckily enough to live driving distance to the paradise that is Byron Bay. I have been in Byron to celebrate the launch of one of my longtime favourite Australian label Spell‘s very first swimwear line starting with Isla Bay, and their new Summer collection Lovebird, so rather than flying up my partner and I made another road trip out of it. This white embroidered drop waist dress was just one of my favourite pieces from Lovebird and has already become an everyday Summer staple.
After adoring, buying and wearing countless of Spell‘s beautiful pieces over many years it was surreal to finally meet the wonder women that are behind this talented powerhouse. It was extremely comforting to realise how people can inspire you not just as designers, but as human beings, as inviting as old friends, supportive of their community and above all proud (and multitasking!) mothers.
Last night I waited for the full moon to rise by the beach with the wind in my hair and sand between my toes. We were never able to completely see it behind thick cloud but her presence was felt all the same. Thanks for the magic Byron, you always know how to reset me.
